Today I finished cataloging the donated items. Dan showed me the backlog of items that still need to be cataloged and with no full time cataloger on staff, it may be a project that I can tackle eventually. dan made mention that he's trying to secure the money to hire on a librarian to take care of the massive cataloging project, along with some other organizational projects. I would love to be able to work at PNCA full time, but I'm not sure how much cataloging I really want to do. I think in order to make it a less frustrating undertaking, they need to upgrade their OPAC. the Alexandria is just not sufficient for an academic library. They need a trained cataloger and more standardization. I just don't know if I'd be the right person for that task. In this job market, though, I might take anything!
